Karen Fleisch

“Inspired by the magic of the ages”

Karen Fleisch has been designing and styling her world since she was a little girl. Notoriety was gained in the late '80s through 2007 as co-designer/partner of AccompliceNYC/Arkivestry, a line of dark, romantic, rock-n-roll clothing that went on to change the look of alternative fashion from that time forward. They became known for dressing well-known and cutting-edge musicians, performers, and amazing people of the night.

Under the Arkivestry license and her own label Karen Fleisch Designs, she created pattern designs for the iconic Simplicity Patterns. The patterns also include embroidery, felted embroidery, and beading projects Karen created to embellish her designs. Simplicity also hired her to style and do set design for their catalog photo shoots to bring her original sketches to life!

Through the years, Karen has designed and styled for various performers and production companies to create independent films, photography, live music performances, webisodes, videos, and theater, and continues to enjoy collaborating with other creatives.
As well as designing wardrobe for these projects, Karen also keeps herself inspired by acting in many of the above projects, playing tambourine, shakers & vocals with various musicians, and doing other guest performances.

At this time Karen is giving more attention to her illustration work and other artistic projects.
